It seems that in today’s world of digital photography, more and more brides just want the digital negatives of their wedding. They don’t care about getting prints done at a professional lab, why do that when they can get them printed for much cheaper at a local place?
Another thing I’ve noticed is brides just don’t want to spend the money on a good photographer. This boggles my mind. I understand being on a budget and making do with the money you have. Believe me, that’s how I did my wedding! You know what though? The biggest regret I have is not spending more money on my wedding pictures. The pictures we had done were just fine and turned out great. But why settle for just fine, when we could have gotten something so much better?
Those pictures are the real hard evidence from your wedding day. Those pictures are the ones that will get handed down to your children and grandchildren. Why not take the extra step and make sure you get professional level pictures that will last generations to come?
Along with those pictures should come a wedding album. If you are one of those brides who just wants the digital negatives, I strongly encourage you to get a professional album! What a way to cherish your wedding memories forever!
If you are like me, when you get a cd of pictures, do you just store it along with your 50 other CDs of pictures? When you finally get around to printing some off, months or years later, do they just sit in the little envelope they arrived in? Do you throw them in a box or take the time to sit down and sort them and place them in an album?
In ordering a wedding album, you won’t have that dark cloud hanging over you to get your wedding pictures printed and placed in an album. Your photographer will either design an album themselves or have a graphic designer create one that contains your wedding day love story. Wedding albums are family heirlooms. They mark the beginning of your story as a family. Why not have your photographer create something beautiful with your wedding pictures that can be a part of your family for years to come?
A good photographer will capture those details that you spent hours agonizing over. A good photographer will photograph you looking amazing in your wedding dress. A good photographer will take the time needed to ensure that every single detail of your wedding will not go over looked. Take those images and have a wedding album created that tells your story just as well as you can.
I’m not knocking those brides who only wish to receive the digital negatives so they can create their own album. I completely understand about budgeting, but when you sit down to create your wedding budget, think about what is the most important thing to you. Yes, nice flowers are great, and whether or not chicken or steak will be served at the reception is a decision you must make, but after the day is over and everything is all said and done, what will you remember?
