This family with young boys was so much fun to photograph! We selected an open area with a country feel with few people and distractions around. It was really important when selecting a venue for family portraits with young children that there are few distractions. It can be a challenge to get small kids to look at the camera when there are lots of things pulling their focus easily.
The venue we chose was perfect for these little guys to explore, run, and jump off rocks. It’s important to let the little ones be little and have fun during portraits. They had a good time running around and exploring all the rocks and sticks.
These types of images are what I love photographing the most, little kids enjoying the great outdoors. It’s an added bonus when parents are laid back and relaxed as it helps the kids relax too. Little action shots showcase so much more of a child’s personality versus the more formal, posed portraits.
