This cute family came all the way from Wyoming just to have me photograph them. (dramatic pause). Okay, not really. They have family in the Greenville area, but it was a nice thought right?! I photographed Phil and Adriana’s wedding a few years ago and have always loved getting the opportunity to photograph them when they are in town.
Due to a crazy flight and schedule, we pushed their family portraits back a day. Of course it had to be the windiest, coolest day we’ve had in several days. But that was okay, we rolled with it and kept everybody smiling.
We decided to photograph at Furman University since it offers a central location and has numerous picturesque spots for photographing without having to work around tons of people (cough, downtown Greenville).
It was a fun and relaxed session, which is always good with an adventurous almost 3-year-old. Sometimes its hard to know what a kid will do, so its always an adventure when photographing them.
Adriana and I coordinated on their outfits. I always highly recommend the mommas to wear a dress, something flowy or a maxi style. But, the exception to that rule is when it’s not really your thing, and that was the case this time. My first rule when it comes to dressing for portraits, is you have to be comfortable and you have to be you. I don’t want to force you to wear something you’d never wear or something that just doesn’t suit your personality. I love the outfits we came up with and it was totally their family!
Furman was fun, but we joked next time I will just have to come out to Pinedale and photograph them out west! Thanks for the fun session!
