They say girls are twice as nice and all sugar and spice right? So if there are two of them, that’s double the sugar and double the spice?
While I am not a traditional newborn portrait photographer, I will always enjoy the opportunity to photograph babies in a lifestyle way. This means, I don’t use all the cute poses and the hours upon hours of editing and compositing multiple images together for that perfect portrait. I just don’t have the knowledge or the time to photograph in that way. My hat is off to those newborn photographers who are totally comfortable with those kinds of images!
My newborn style is life as it really is. Babies cry. They poop. They eat. And just when you think you’ve got them content and ready to rock ‘n roll, they poop again and have a blow-out you wouldn’t want to touch with a ten-foot pole. Ah, the joys of newborns. I am by far more patient with other people’s babies and kids than my own.
Back to all things sugar and spice.
Twins tend to run in my family and to say we were all surprised when my brother and his wife announced they were having twin girls was an understatement! My sister has twin boys who are now four. (in case you are wondering, I do not have twins and Lord-willing we are done having babies, so no twins in my foreseeable future). What are the odds of two out of three kids in my family to have twins?!
I drove up to Charlotte to meet the new baby girls and spend some time photographing them. We tried to get a few pictures with their almost 2-year-old brother, but he really wasn’t interested. I’m sure he’ll come around and be the best big brother out there!
These cutie pies are identical twin sisters and I had a hard time telling them apart! One is slightly bigger than the other so when they are side-by-side you can see differences. However, when I was holding one, there was no way I could tell you which one I was holding. Their mother painted the toe nail of one in order to tell who was who. I thought that was a great idea! Here’s my favorites from our session together!
