This was a super fun and super hot model call session at the Taylors Mill in downtown Taylors, SC. This is the second year that I’ve held a model call and I am really enjoying these sessions. What is a model call you ask? It’s a portrait session held for a very specific purpose. In my case, I need to work on couples posing and I want to work on some editing as well. So, I asked for married or engaged couples who would be willing to pose for me in exchange for a reduced portrait fee and a free print of their choice.
This allows me to get some much-needed practice in, but it also allows some great portraits for my clients at a reduced rate. They just need to be patient with me and let me do my thing.
I loved this session with Shane and Ashleigh! We threw around a couple of places for their portrait session but decided on the Taylors Mill. I haven’t shot there before, and I have always found the place a neat venue to explore.
I made a few suggestions to Ashleigh on outfits and she took it from there. I think they nailed it and I loved her dress!
One thing I love about meeting new people is hearing their story. Shane and Ashleigh are both from South Africa and while they had a young family, decided to move to Greenville, South Carolina. They have been here for many years, but still have that subtle accent that is so fun to hear.
As we started the session, I began by saying I wanted them to constantly be touching each other and looking at each other. If I wanted them to look at the camera, I would direct them to do that. I wanted lots of close contact, smiling, kissing, and general playfulness.
They nailed it. See for yourself.
