From the moment I met Earl and Helen, I knew we would have a good time during their family portrait shoot! Helen contacted me from Texas, where her husband is currently stationed with the military. As we chatted, she informed me Earl would be deploying soon and she and their 5-month-old son would be staying with her parents in the Greenwood area.
People in the military, those who serve our country, will always have a special place in my heart for what they do. Families, with spouses, sons, daughters, and loved ones in the military deserve a special medal as well. Thank you for what you do!
Helen had family visiting from out of the country so we started off with a few large family portraits at her parent’s home before focusing on just the three of them. Isn’t this one of the proud grandparents just about perfect?
And this four generation picture is so precious!
The color choices and patterns Helen put together for her family were fantastic! It is always exciting for a portrait photographer to show up and not have everyone wearing white and khaki – please don’t do that.
Earl is a doctor in the Army and has a sense of humor that kept me laughing and smiling during their portraits. Helen, who happens to be a lawyer, is such a down-to-earth woman and has this calmness about her. I’m sure the two of them have some stories to tell of life together! Their little guy was such a gentleman for his portraits; he was such a natural in front of the camera.
Of course we needed to get some of just mom and dad, so Earl and Helen just threw this pose out and rocked out the last few minutes of their session. They are simply adorable and I could have photographed them all day.
Here’s a little slideshow of their family portrait session. Thank you so much for allowing me to have such a small part in your lives! Thank you for serving our country and for the sacrifices you have made!
