Several weeks ago I received an email from a friend who’s parents are celebrating 30 blissful years of marriage this year. The kids wanted to do something memorable for their parents and decided to purchase a historic segway tour of Greenville and have me tag along to photograph!
On a cloudy brisk morning, I met with Jeff and Julie downtown Greenville, South Carolina at the segway tour, Greenville Glides. We had a quick introduction to the segway, as none of us had ever ridden one before. It took a few minutes to get used to balancing, but soon we were comfortable enough and headed outside to begin the tour.
We glided down main street amidst tourists, families, and cars towards our first stop.
Our tour guide, John, told us about the beginnings of Greenville, how it started, how much of an impact the railroad was, and spoke on many of the historic places in downtown Greenville. We rode by the Cigar Warehouse, Fluor Field, Funneldelicious, and many other iconic downtown Greenville places.
The tour was roughly an hour and a half and was a lot of fun. The memorable part was definitely trying to navigate the segway, although learning a bit of Greenville’s history was interesting as well.
If you are looking for something out of the ordinary to do, definitely try out Greenville Glides! Here’s a quick little slideshow of my time with Jeff and Julie. Hope your anniversary was memorable and extra special this year!
