I love it when I get to connect with people from Michigan, my home state. I also love it when clients know what they want, but let me put my own spin on things. I really love it when they know how to dress themselves and totally rock a portrait session.
This family nailed all three of those things!
We met up at a field and barn in the area and started our portrait session. The weather was perfect, not too hot or windy and even had a light breeze. We started shooting a couple of hours prior to sunset. I have found that these make for such pretty lighting. However, if the sun is too harsh or still a bit bright, I always look for some open shade. In this case, we used the shade from the barn for our lighting since it was a tad bright when we initially began.
Josh and Bianca are the cutest couple. The way they look at each other is really sweet. They met while serving in the military many years ago and have made South Carolina their home, where Josh is originally from.
It would make sense that two people as awesome as Josh and Bianca would have a beautiful daughter. I’m not quite sure what she thought of me, but I thought she was a lot of fun to photograph. She seemed very serious, and probably because I was this total stranger taking her picture.
I will say, probably my favorite portraits from this session were the ones of Bianca and her daughter. There was such a beautiful connection between the two of them. I really felt the love Bianca has for her daughter. Maybe it’s because my daughter is close in age to Bianca’s or perhaps just being a mother myself, I understand the love you have for your children.
Nothing can even come close to that feeling. You would do anything for your child.
Here are some of my favorites from this family session in Greenville, South Carolina.
