We have been friends with the Davis family for an epic amount of time. I first met them while working at Ironwood Christian Camp in Newberry Springs, CA back in 2004. That also happens to be the same summer I met my husband, Jon.
Jon and Joe have basically grown up together. . . . well, let me rephrase that, they have gotten older together, the growing up part is still out for debate.
We’ve been fast friends and miss them terribly since they have moved away from the area a few years ago. However, they still visit family in the area and we always make it a point to get together with them while in town.
Recently, due to a death in the family, they were in town. We scheduled family portraits while they were here and it was just gorgeous!
Beka has a great sense of style, so there wasn’t a lot for me to do as far as giving directions for outfits. She brought a few options for the baby and we quickly put together their portrait outfits.
When photographing families, I will always get the traditional everyone smile at the camera pose. However, I am really working on capturing more emotive and bold images during my family portrait sessions. I have really fallen in love with that particular style of editing and shooting.
Since it is always so hard to narrow down family galleries to just a few, here are my favorite portrait from their fall family session.
