David and Alma are expecting their first baby. . . a girl! Each child is such a precious gift from God. Celebrating the upcoming birth of a baby is just as exciting!
Maternity portraits are fun to shoot. I love these types of sessions because we can play with the baby belly! Each session is so unique to the expecting couple.
With David and Alma, we decided to use a field and some trees. Come on. Who doesn’t love to photograph in a field of grass with some pretty leaves nearby?
I liked the outfits Alma chose for their session. The green and blue complimented each other well and it definitely fit the location. Her blue and pink chevron dress was so cute on her! Outfits are so important for a successful portrait shoot. Not to put too much pressure on you, but they can really make the photo pop if put together in the right way!
I really wasn’t sure how the weather would cooperate for us. We shot this on the tail end of Hurricane Matthew, so we had a breeze to work with, but thankfully no rain! The sun came out and provided the perfect backdrop to the maternity portraits. I probably could have shot the rest of the evening at that location and thoroughly enjoyed it. David and Alma were great to work with and we had an enjoyable time laughing and shooting.
Like I mentioned, outfits are important to a successful photoshoot. Another key element to a successful portrait shoot is to be relaxed and have fun. I really try to put my clients at ease and make sure they are enjoying themselves. Laughter is the best tool for that. My husband often tells me I’m not as funny as I seem to think I am, but it doesn’t stop me from trying.
Here’s my favorites from David and Alma’s maternity portrait session.
