As soon as we found out we would be having a baby girl in September, I began scouring Pinterest for ideas for a nursery. I basically knew the colors I would be using and had the bedding already, but wanted something to decorate the walls with.
I knew I didn’t want anything super babyish and I wanted something she could grow into.
I came across a picture on Pinterest that I really liked and saved it for future use.
I casually mentioned to my sister about the idea I had found and how I wanted to incorporate it into Sadie’s nursery. She reminded me of some friends of theirs who have a side business doing pretty much the exact thing I was looking for. I had seen their work before and really liked it, so I was excited to contact them about this project of mine.

I contacted Lauren with my proposal and she was excited to start working on it for me. We collaborated for a week or two with my vision and her expert insight on what might look and work best.
We ended up with three 16″x16″ canvases painted to match the colors of the nursery. On each canvas was a picture of something unique to our family. I chose a vintage looking camera, a palmetto tree, and a horse (of course!). Okay, so I guess they are more unique to my tastes rather than Jon’s, but you get the idea.
I am super happy with how they turned out and can’t wait to hang them up in Sadie’s nursery! We’ll have to wait another month or two before I can show you the final nursery with everything put together, but here’s what they look like for now.
If you are looking for something custom made out of wood or pallet wood, please do not hesitate to contact Lauren with A Little Monkey Business! They are fantastic to work with and I highly recommend them!
