I had such a great time shooting Anna-Layne’s bridal portraits! She was fantastic to work with, had some ideas of her own, and was up for anything. Anna-Layne is from Spartanburg and that’s where we shot her bridal portraits. I’m not very familiar with the area, so I relied a lot on her for locations. She picked the First Presbyterian Church and the Piedmont Club and I have to say I loved both locations!
It was hard to have to wait to post these bridal portraits of Anna-Layne; the girl is gorgeous both inside and out! I loved getting to know her and her mother before the wedding and this was the perfect way to do it.
Anna-Layne and her fiancé, Brandon, already had engagement pictures lined up, so I didn’t get the chance to work with him prior to the wedding. This is why when you book a wedding with me, a bridal or engagement session (or both if you choose!) is included in your package. Having that comfort level with your photographer can only come by working with him or her prior to the wedding day and I would highly recommend it!
I had a lot of favorites and it was hard to narrow it down to just a few. Here’s the photo Anna-Layne chose as her official bridal portrait.
This was actually the very first picture I took. Typically the very first pictures I take in a photoshoot are the most difficult for me, simply because the client and myself aren’t warmed up yet. But, I have to say that Anna-Layne nailed it and she looks confident to me!
We wandered around the property and tried to find nice lighting and interesting backgrounds.
From there it just got better and better and I couldn’t be more excited for how these bridal portraits turned out! Anna-Layne was a dream to photograph and made my job super easy.
You can’t fake a genuine laugh!
I had this crazy idea that Anna-Layne would run and her dress would flow out behind her. When I suggested it to her, she was game and this was the amazing image we got! Granted we had to do it twice, but I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. It’s perfect and I love the expression on her face!
And I had to do a little dramatic editing on this last image. It’s probably one of my favorites. I love the depth and drama to it!
