Several weeks ago I had the privilege to second shoot a wedding with the talented Amy Wood of Elev8 Studios in Simpsonville, South Carolina. I love to second shoot weddings because I feel the pressure is off me to get the ‘money shot’ and I can really enjoy myself and perhaps try some things that I wouldn’t otherwise be comfortable enough to try.
The venue for this fabulous fall wedding was the gorgeous Lindsey Plantation, located in Taylors, South Carolina, close to North Greenville University. I had never been to this location before and wasn’t quite sure what to expect. This venue offered multiple locations, all with amazing views, for various events to be held. I fell in love with the barn, having been a horse owner and lover for many years, I loved the idea of having a reception in the barn.
Of course, many of you just heard me say barn and probably cringed to yourself, but it’s not like a barn with animals still living in it. The barn has been updated and a few details have been added to make it truly a unique place for a reception or any other event you’d like to host. A chandelier here and a lamp there and voila! you don’t have a barn any more, you have a wedding reception venue with tons of character!
I am grateful to Amy for her allowing me to second shoot along side of her and I had a great time at the wedding. The band, all the way from Charleston, called Ben Fagan & the Holy City Hooligans, did a fantastic job. I really liked the different sound they had with many popular songs. Check them out to hear all the latest music. They definitely put their own spin on things!
Leave me a comment or two and let me know what you think of the wedding!
